The Doge Pound NFT mobile app that allows users to view their NFTs, ecosystem information, and puppy breeding system.
The problem
Our main issue with the app from the beginning was that the problem/goal was not clearly defined. In the beginning, the goal of the app was to strictly complement the website by viewing the different NFT collections, then it transitioned to breeding puppy NFTs, then to AR experiences. It was partially my fault I didn’t press harder to get clear specifications, but regardless it was a fun experience to work with John Lemon (founder) and his team.
What went well
Even though the specifications were not clearly defined, I did get to work with a designer which made the experience much better. Also, the positive feedback on the beta releases from the community was a great feeling and was one of my first experiences building within Web3.
The downfall
Unfortunately we were never able to actually get the app published on the App Store due to strict restrictions from Apple regarding crypto and NFTs at the time. We continued for months to push through the rejections from reviewers but were never able to make any progress. In the end, the founder decided to sunset the project and move on.
